This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The quotation number is 1PI-Q-0089-99, and this solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated clauses and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3541. UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries intends to procure one (1) 48" Radial Arm Drill to be delivered to FCI Milan, MI within four (4) to eight (8) weeks after award of this quotation. The Radial Arm Drill must meet the following specifications: Maximum Work Piece Diameter 6', Spindle Radius (Min-Max) 11" -- 41", Spindle to Column (Min-Max) 2.5" -- 36, Horizontal Travel of Head 30", Column Vertical Travel 12", Spindle Taper MT #4, Spindle Travel 6", Spindle Quill Diameter (Min) 2.75", Spindle Speeds 60 -- 2400 RPM, Volts 208, Horse Power 3 HP, Elevating Table 26" X48", Table Travel 15", Power Quill Feed, .5 T Slotted Table, and Positive Head and Column Locking System. Vendors are required to provide Descriptive Literature to demonstrate how their equipment will conform to our specifications. Delivery is FOB Destination to Federal Correctional Institution, Federal Prison Industries, Inc., Arkona Road, Milan, MI 48160-0502. UNICOR will award a contract resulting from this quotation to a responsible offeror whose quote conforms to the requirement and is considered the most advantageous to the Government. Provisions FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The following are addenda to FAR Clause 52.212-1: Paragraph (c) Period of acceptance of offers; the offeror agrees to hold their prices of their quote firm for 60 calendar days from the date specified for receipt of quotes. Provision FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, price shall be evaluated by multiplying each offeror's proposed unit price by the each line item, taking into consideration any applicable Buy American differentials. Discounts for early payments, if offered, will not be considered in the evaluation for award. Each reference must contain the name, address and telephone number of the company or government agency for which a contract was performed as well as a contact person, and contract number if applicable. Vendors must include a completed copy of FAR Provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items with their offer. Any quotes that reject the terms and conditions of this solicitation or do not include the certifications and representations contained in FAR 52.212-3 may be excluded from consideration.
