NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Information Builders software (PN HP-UX K570(2-3CPU) Group V Relational Gateway), technical support, and training support. The procurement is in support of the NASA KSC Insight server collecting and providing shuttle processing data to NASA. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Information Builders, 2600 Maitland Center Parkway, Suite 335, Maitland Florida, 32751. The authoriity for this sole source procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) based on the unique capabilities and product offered by Information Builders. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Any referenced notes can be viewed at the following URL: http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/nasanote.html. Interested firms have until November 23, 1998, to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities willbe used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the the above date will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
