Public Law 105-178 cited as the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century; Title V -- Transportation Research; Subtitle A -- Funding; Sec.5001- Authorization of Appropriations, (b) states "Federal share of the cost of a project or activity carried out using such funds shall be 80 percent and such funds shall remain available until expended." Based on this language, all applicants must propose a total project cost of $1,125,000, with the Federal share of $900,000 and the applicant share of $225,000.
