R -- DECISION TO CONTRACT OUT TRANSITION ASSISTANCE OFFICE (TAO)FUNCTIONS ANNOUCEMENT OF DECISION TO CONTRACT OUT TRANSITION ASSISTANCE OFFICE (TAO) FUNCTIONS. On 13 August 1998, the Army made a decision to contract out Transition Assistance Office (TAO) functions. This decision is the outcome of a cost comparison study that was completed in accordance with OMB Circular A-76, Army and DoD regulations, and Public Law. The TAO functions will be competitively awarded under the current Transition Services and Support Program (TSSP) contract.
