tube is used to supply oil to the No. 5 bearing. Applicable to the F100
engine model series. **Solicitation to be issued will be for a
three-year requirements' contract. The first year is the basic, then
two one-year option periods. The following are the BEQs (Best Estimated
Quantities) for each year: Year 1 (basic) 800 each; Year 2 (option year
1): 300 each; Year 3 (option year 2): 300 each. Solicitation is
expected to be issued approximately 11 Dec 98. To be eligible for
contract award, offerors must be approved sources in accordance with
I-70 of the solicitation. The Government is not required to delay
contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs).
Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible.
If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the
contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be
reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards.
Government-furnished drawings are not available. Approved sources are
United Technologies, Whitney Aircraft Group, West Palm Beach, FL and
Lewis and Saunders Inc., Laconia, NH. All potential offerors should
contact the buyer/PCO identified in this notice for additional
information and/or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this
acquisition. If your concerns are not satisfied by the contracting
officer, an Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors
or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of an
acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the
program director or Contracting Officer, but communicates Contractor
concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate
Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain
strict confidentially as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman
does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source
