Edwards AFB has a requirement for four (4) each, MARS II Digital Airborne Recorder/Reproducer and sixteen (16) each, PCM/1553 Interface Cards, Dual Channel, manufactured by Metrum Datatape Inc with the following part numbers 636401-4000 and 636294-0000. Minimum salient performance characteristics: shall be 100% compatible and interchangeable with the existing data acquisition system. The MARS II Digital Airborne Recorder/Reproducer characteristics provides up to 8 channels of built-in MIL-STD-1553A/B, NRZ-L, RNRZ-L, and Bi-Phase data formats. Multiple Storage Modules -- Equipped with a SCSI-II interface, has the capability to attach up to 7 storage modules to one electronic module for extended mission recording time, or to mirror data recording. Multiple data formats with a programmable configuration feature allowing users to store up to 16 test configurations. The proposed contact action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Metrum-Datatape,Inc, phone (626) 358-9500 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
