E-MAIL: USEPA, CMD, Licis.sandy@epamail.epa.gov. The USEPA, National Risk Management Research Laboratory plans to negotiate on a on a sole source basis with Trace Analytical for procurement of a Chromatography Analyzer Package required for lab field analysis of the reductive dechlorination daughter products and disolved #2 levels in real time for assessment of biogeochemical processes and biotransformations. Will support inhouse SERDP and Hazardous Waste reseach Projects. This piece of equipment is the only gas analyzer capable of determining free H2 in water at concentrations ranging from 10ppb to 20ppm and capable of of determining CO2, methane and ethane and ethylene from 0.5 ppm to 200ppm. The Reduction Gas Detector can measure H2,CO, aldehydes, ketones, and other unsaturated hydrocarbons at ppm to ppt concentrations. Normal Air constituents (N2,Os, CO2, etc.) inert gases (AR,HE), and sturated hydrocarbons are not detected. This comination of sensitivity and slectivity is necessary for determination of disolved Hydrogen in ground water.EPA source research indicates that Trace Analytical is uniquely qualified to provide this equipment. However, any firm believing itself capable of meeting these requirements may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of complying with the minimum performance specifications. Only those firms presenting such documentation will be considered otherwise, EPA will proceed to negotiate with Trace Analytical based on FAR authority 6.302..
