Zgavec, Contracting Officer, 828/257-4292; FAX 828/257-4876 Provide nesting data from a random sample of red-cockaded woodpecker colonies on the Francis-Marion National Forest in South Carolina. Data will include clutch size, number of eggs hatching and number reaching fledging age based on climbing cavity trees and examining cavity contents with a light and mirror. Number of adults per colony will also be determined from morning roost checks. Bidding will be based on the number of colonies from which data can be collected for $30,000. A colony from which completed nesting season data (as specified) is collected is the measured unit of work. This work is for the period April 20, 1999, to June 30, 1999.
