and Mapping Agency (NIMA) intends to award Baker and Associates the
maintenance services of the Off-Line Orthophoto Printing Systems
(OLOPS). The OLOPS produce high-quality othophotos in an off-line mode
of operation. The OLOPS systems extracts image detail data from an
input aerial photograph for the purpose of creating an output
orthographically corrected photograph. The OLOPS can be used to produce
controlled rectification, stereomates, digitizing and input photo or
producing an output from digitized pictorial data. NIMA has 6 OLOPS
that need high-precision calibration. Four of the systems are located
at the NIMA Bethesda, MD site and two are located at the NIMA St.
Louis, MO site. The systems are between 8 and 13 years old and
constantly need remedial maintenance. Periodic preventive maintenance
on the entire system must be performed in order to keep the OLOPS
operation within specification. The services listed above will be
performed on an as needed, per call basis. The services will be needed
through September 30 1999. The government intends to solicit and
negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-3.
Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to
respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent
is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals
received within forty-five days after date of publication of this
synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination of the
government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses
to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
