LeBlanc Contractor to provide two (2) Full Time Equivalent Employee (FTEE) Anesthesiologist for the VA Medical Center, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA for a period of one (1) year from date of award, which is projected to be 2/1/99/. Services include preoperative anesthesia patient evaluations and consultations; administer anesthesia to surgical patients; coordinate operating room schedule with the OR Nurse Manager; monitor patient care in SICU/PACU; perform postoperative anesthesia evaluation and consultation; provided emergency code coverage; consult on patients requiring pain management; maintain appropriate patient records; maintain quality assurance activities for the anesthesia section and provide-on-call coverage every 4th night and 4th week-end(every 3rd during vacations). Candidates must meet the following criteria. Must have demonstrated experience in cardiac anesthesia(52 cases/year) and major vascular cases(52 cases/year). Must have the ability to commit to a busy operating room schedule. The West Roxbury VA currently has 5 active operating rooms, with 5 Anesthesiologists(when fully staffed) and 8 CRNS's. Must have experience in quality management. Must have completed a residency program in anesthesia. Must be certified by the American Board of Anesthesia. Must be able to provide emergency coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week on a rotating basis. Must be able to meet requirements for academic appointment with the Harvard Medical School. At least one candidate must have demonstrated experience in cardiology, critical care, trans-esophageal echocardiography and data analysis systems.
