Due to changes this solicitation was not issued in FY98; therefore, a new solicitation and number is being issued. The new solicitation number is DAKF48-99-Q-0045. DESC: Requirement is to provide all labor, management, supervision, facilities, equipment, utilities, materials, transportation, and other services necessary to provide 72-hour laundry services for III Corps and Fort Hood units and activities to include pickup and delivery of items from customer site. Linen items to be laundered, but not all inclusive are :thermal blankets, mattress covers, flat sheets, pillowcases, and standard pillows. In addition to the linen service is the organizational bulk laundry service. These items include, but not all inclusive: sleeping bags, duffel bags, insect band, battle dress uniform coat, cold weather caps, food handler's coat, coveralls, parka liner, and chemical suit trousers. Offerors may submit offerson the linen service, the organizational bulk laundry, or both. If determined to be in the best interest of the Government, multiple awards may be issued. Award will be based upon price and past performance. The successful offeror must also be responsible, which will be determined by a facility check, performed by this agency, prior to award. The contract period will be for a base year with four one-year options as required by Solicitation Number DAKF48-99-Q-0045. The contract resulting from this solicitation will be a firm-fixed price requirements type contract with an anticipated start date of 1 Jan 99. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this acquisition is 7219, with a size standard of $5 million. This requirement is considered to be a commercial item.
