Description of Work: Near the pintles (bottom pivot point) on both gate leaves, remove a portion of gate skin plate, approximately 2.5 ft by 4 ft, furnish and install new structural steel stiffener assemblies by bolting and welding to the existing gate structure, and replace the removed portions of skin plates. Perform miscellaneous welding repairs in the vicinity of the pintles. All welding to be performed in accordance with AWS D 1.5 "Bridge Welding Code." Paint the repaired areas of the gate with Corps of Engineers formulation vinyl paint. Furnish and install electrical conduit full height of each gate leaf and install wires in conduits for new strain transducers. Transducers will be furnished and installed by others. Remove one existing hydraulic cylinder that opens and closes the gate leaf and install a new Government-furnished hydraulic cylinder. Each gate leaf is approximately 120 feet tall and 45 feet wide. The hydraulic cylinder located at the top of the gate is 18 feet long, 16 foot stroke, and has a 14 inch bore. The navigation lock will be dewatered by the Government. Estimated cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. The standard industrial classification code (SIC) is 1629. The small business size standard is average annual receipts for the previous three fiscal years must not exceed $17,000,000.00.
