solicitation/synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE
ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN
SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation No. RFQ 990006 is issued
as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 97-06. This action is a 100% small business
set-aside. The SIC code is 3536, and the small business size standard
is 500. The USSS has a required for qty. one (1) industrial manipulator
to handle various automotive transparent armor (Glass) windshields and
backlites and to potentially be suspended from an existing overhead
crane. Requirement shall include an extra head to handle sheet metal,
MAX dimensions 4 feet x 8 feet, training manuals, delivery and freight;
handle material to the following: Max loads to 600 LBS, MAX dimensions
to 4 feet x 6 feet, Min dimensions to 1'6 inches x 5 feet.
Specifications as follows: Compressed air operated, vacuum hold, lift
from ground level to 8 feet, one (1) man operation, 360% rotation at
the X axis, 180% rotation at the Y axis, 180% rotation at the Z axis.
Mandatory site visit has been scheduled for 9:00 A.M., Friday, December
4, 1998, at 2701 South Capitol Street, SW, Washington, DC 20373. Please

11, 1998 and shall be submitted to U. S. Secret Service, Procurement
Division, 1310 L Street, NW, Suite 730, Washington, DC 20223. The
Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract to the
responsible offeror whose proposal, conforming to the items listed
herein, will be the most price advantageous to the Government. See Note
