Furnish all required equipment, materials, plant, tools, transportation and labor necessary for rehabilitation of existing turbines, generators and replacement of the excitation system and governors. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded. The scope of work includes (but is not limited to): rehabilitation of four identical 36,111 kVA (original rating) vertical type hydro-generator units. Turbines are of the Kaplan type, manufactured by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company. Generators are of the umbrella type, manufactured by the Elliot Company. Work items include (1) rehabilitation of turbine runners; (2) rewind of generators; (3) installation of new static excitation systems; (4) replacement of mechnical governors with digital electronic governors; (5) conversion of neutral grounding to high impedance grounding system; and (6) inspection, replacement, and/or rehabilitation of various mechanical and electrical assemblies and components. Optional items of relatively small value will also be included in this requirement. The overall procurement value is estimated to exceed $10,000,000.00.
