T -- VISITOR CENTER & MUSEUM EXHIBIT PLANNING & DESIGN SOL RFP-00-99-R-13 DUE 011299 POC Vera Moreland -- 202/690-4359 The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Design Center, a unit within the Office of Communications, hopes to award a support services contract for visitor center and museum exhibit planning and design. Multiple contracts may be considered as provided within the solicitation. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, software applications, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to perform under this contract. Projects include but are not limited to the following: Design of display cases and shelving, exhibit panels, platforms, information desks, glass or plexiglass structures, photo murals, display transparencies, scale and full size models, dimensional maps and displays, dioramas, interactive exhibits and audio visual programs, artifact displays, interior and exterior signage, menu and bulletin boards, sales display fixtures, lighting and electrical work, furnishings, trade show booths and islands, banners and other environmental graphics, preparation of original art work and graphics for digital and traditional output. USDA will provide design direction, standards, and general specifications. The contractor must perform electronic production work using Macintosh (Mac) platform applications as primary with some Personal Computer (PC) platform applications secondary as determined by USDA. The resulting contract will be a requirements type contract with a one year base and four 1-year option renewals.
