Management, Inc. as prime contractor to the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development, Multifamily REO program, is soliciting
bids from qualified firms for the provision of exterior and interior
renovations in addition to asbestos abatement at Ward Plaza Apartments,
1603 West End Blvd., Marshall, TX 75670. Only those firms interested in
offering on this request for bids as prime contractors should request
a copy of the solicitation. Separate packages for subcontractors will
be made available upon request (please designate that you are only
interested in the work as a subcontractor). The work will involve a
phased renovation and asbestos abatement of the occupied 100-unit
project over a six month period. The job will be covered by the
Davis-Bacon Act. AMI will use standard American Institute of Architects
documents to form the basic contract documents in addition to
specifications for the work written by professional architectural and
environmental firms. These documents include the following: AIA
Document A101-1997, "Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and
Contractor;" AIA A310, "Bid Bond;" AIA 312-1984, "Performance Bond;"
AIA Document A312-1984, "Payment Bond;" AIA Document A201-1997,"General
Conditions of the Contract for Construction;" and AIA Document A201/SC,
"Federal Supplementary Conditions of the Contract for Construction."
Copies of these copyrighted documents can be obtained from any local
AIA office. Contracts will also be governed by applicable Federal
Acquisition Regulation Flow-Down Clauses applicable to AMI's prime
contract and all subcontracts issued thereunder. Estimated total
contract price is between $2.7 and $3.5 million. Fax requests for

pre-bid conference is tentatively set for December 11, 1998 at the job
site. Final arrangements will be made after December 1. AMI will
conduct a thorough background check of the apparently successful
offerer. Bid and other types of bonds from the offeror will be required
from Treasury-listed bonding firms only. Questions regarding the

copy of the solicitation will not be available for downloading from the
AMI web site listed below, but informational postings will be made
there relating to the pre-bid conference and other administrative
