68 -- HUMAN SYPHILITIC SERA SOL Req #5DASSR99 POC Dorothy Reed-Penix, Lead Purchasing Agent, (404) 842-6774 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to purchase 20 Units of Human Syphilitic Sera from Millennium Biotech, Inc, 4540 North Federal Highway, Ft Lauderdale, Florida 33308. The acquisition of the required Sera is believed to only be available from Millennium Biotech Inc. The Bacterial Sexually Transmitted Diseases Branch of The CDC needs to supplement it's serum bank due to depletion, therefore, Sera is required to prepare panels of Sera for Manufacturers developing new tests for Syphilis. Paness sold to manufacturers must be composed of serum from known stages of syphilis to fulfill FDA and CDC requirements for determining sensitivity for a new test for syphilis. Sera has already been tittered in the necessary combination in order to get the optimal amounts, and determined to be HIV, HVB and HCV negative .
