NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Smartscene developers bundle software (PN SSE-DVBUN-FLT-S), Multigen II 3D Modeler (PN MIIE-MOD-FLT-S) and Multigen II Smartscene Editor (PN MIIO-SMED-FLT-S). This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items on a sole source basis from Edgemark Systems, 11921-E Bournefield Way, Silver Springs, MD 20904. The authority for this procurement is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) based on the unique capabilities of the product offered by Edgemark. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until December 1, 1998, to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after December 1, 1998 will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
