The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards Air Force Base, California intends to host an Early Industry Involvement Day, in the CPC Room, Building 8353, AFRL, for solicitation F04611-99-R-0003, Research Operations Support Services (ROSS) (formerly the Operations Support Services), from 12:30 P.M. to 4:00 PM on 17 December 1998. The purpose of this event will be to discuss the following topics: draft Statement of Work (SOW); draft Request for Proposal (RFP); and the consolidation of the Operations Support Services (OSS), Technical Support Services (TSS), and the Facility Support and Maintenance Services contract. This new solicitation will provide the AFRL with the ability to design and reconfigure experimental facilities to accommodate research and development program requirements in minimum time, conduct test operations, and provide maintenance of assigned test facilities. Types of work to be accomplished: 1) Experimental Facility/System Modification which includes design and modification of buildings and structures, liquid and solid propellant systems, industrial and process gas systems, electrical and mechanical systems, control systems, and data acquisition systems. 2) Test operations and operations support which includes pre-test planning, procedures and instructions, drawings, configuration control, maintenance, equipment checkout, data collection and reduction, and test reporting. 3) Research Laboratory Maintenance, which includes maintenance on support infrastructure and inactive test areas such as environmental systems, plumbing/water/sewage, electrical systems, mechanical systems, system certifications, inspections, and minor construction. All potential offerors desiring to attend this event must obtain their security escort badges at the Mercury Blvd AFRL Security Guard Gate (Building 8348)from 1200 to 1215 A.M on 17 December 1998. All non-U.S. citizens will also complete special badging requirements at this same Security Guard Gate. All attendees need to bring a valid picture identification card and their social security card. The CRC Room, Building 8353, is within walking distance of the Security Guard Gate. Due to space limitations in the CRC Room, a maximum of two employees per company are invited to attend this Early Industry Involvement Day. No bus tour of the AFRL facility is planned in conjunction with this event. The contract period will be for a total of (10) years. The SIC Code has been changed from 8711 to 8731, and the Small Business Size Standard is 1000 employees.
