D -- DEC -- SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE SOL N68936-99-R-0034 POC Linda Sapp, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-4280 The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division,(NAWCWD), China Lake, CA intends to negotiate with Compaq/Digital Equipment Corporation(DEC), 24 Executive Park #100, Irvine, CA 92714 on an other than full and open competition basis,using FAR Part 12, Commercial Items, for software maintenance of Compaq/DEC-owned software programs that have been or will be acquired and installed, on Government-owned DEC hardware systems. All software products that will be maintained under this contract are copyrighted and proprietary to Compaq/DEC. The software to be maintained is located at various locations within the boundaries of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD)at China Lake and Point Mugu, CA. The software Support Services will include unlimited toll-free telephone advisory and remedial support from a Customer Support Center, 24 hours a day,7 days a week, with a 2-hour call back; Toll-free telephone number(s) for Government customers to communicate with a technical specialist for problem identification and resolution, usage advice on proper software execution, information on the interpretation of software product technical documentation and answers to specific questions about initial installation and deployment of software; on-line DSNlink, Dial-In Access to CSC resources via a symptom/solution database that enables the user 24 hours a day, 7 days a week communication with the CSC, via toll-free access lines; On-site support for critical software problems that cannot be resolved remotely; software node service; layered product support; media and documentation distribution service; documentation update service and update kits. All work will be done in accordance with the Statement of Work based on an inventory list, which will be released with the Solicitation. The period of performance for the resulting contract will be for a three year term with two one year options. The contractor will be required to maintain a security clearance up to the level of SECRET.
