The Social Security Administration requires contractor services to remove old carpet and install Government furnished new carpet tiles and contractor furnished vinyl tiles on the 8th floor of the Harold Washington Social Security Center, 600 West Madison Street, Chicago, Illinois 60661-2474. The successful contractor will be required to provide all material (except Government furnished carpet tile), labor, supervision, tools and equipment necessary to complete the task specified in the solicitation. Approximate area to be carpeted and tiled is 5,830 square meters. Contractor will be required to move some furniture, including approximately 790 file cabinets, and other equipment during performance of this contract. Work will be performed on twelve (12) weekends ( see solicitation for detailed information) and only during specified hours, usually after normal business hours. A general site visit and walk-through for all bidders will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 1998 at 10:00 AM.
