The government intends to award a Firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery type contract for acquisition and recycling of plastic abrasive media. Plastic abrasive media shall be in accordance with MIL-P-85891A, Type V, acrylic, 30-40 mesh, 6% or below attrition. Period of performance is a base year with an option for two additional one-year periods. Estimated quantity is 142,000 lbs. per year. Contractor shall recycle spent material in a manner as to exempt the spent material from characterization as a solid and hazardous waste as defined in 40 CFR 261.2(E). The contractor shall recycle spent material by utilizing material as an ingredient in an industrial to make a new product. The contractor shall comply with local and state environmental regulations with approval by the appropriate regulatory agency of the state of California and the state in which the recycling is to take place.
