58 -- DIGITAL MIX/DUB CENTERS SOL IA0400-S9234920-Z DUE 121898 POC Elliott Gilmore, Tele.: (202) 205-8413 USIA's International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB) has a requirement to install new Digital Mix/Dub Centers at its Voice of America (VOA) broadcasting service. Each such Center is a freestanding set of audio equipment that is used to facilitate simple radio program and program element production tasks, and import, export, and transfer of program audio segments on analog and digital recording media. The scope of this contract includes all management, equipment, materials, supplies, labor, technical documentation, and other services required to design, fabricate, furnish, install, integrate, commission, test, and warrant each Digital Mix/Dub Center. The overall intent is for the Contractor to furnish and integrate off-the-shelf, commercially-available broadcast audio equipment, but newly developed equipment may be proposed if it will become commercially available before its delivery to IBB/VOA. Contract performance period: Eighteen months from date of an award. USIA intends to issue a Commercial Acquisition type solicitation document (RFP) for this negotiated firm-fixed-price procurement by mid December 1998 with a proposal response date of early January 1999. Qualified suppliers of broadcast-quality digital audio systems may request a copy of the RFP/Solicitation by submitting a written request, (or faxed request -- FAX NO. 202-205-5466), to the USIA Contracting Officer at the above-listed address.
