COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF DECEMBER 3,1998 PSA#2234U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 26 W. Martin Luther King Dr.,
Cincinnati, OH 45268 66 -- GAS CHROMATOGRAPH -- MASS SELECTIVE DETECTION ANALYTICAL SYSTEM
SOL ORD -- 32 POC BILLY ODEN, Contracting Officer, (513)487-2126
E-MAIL: U.S. EPA -- Cincinnati Contracts Management Division,
oden.billy@epamail.epa.gov. The U.S. EPA has a need for a Gas
Chromatography-Mass Selective Detection (GC-MS) analytical system to
provide the advanced technology that will enable analysis of human
tissue samples for environmental toxicants. These toxicants will
include pesticides, endocrine disruptors and exposure biomarkers. The
GC-MS system shall also provide ultra-trace sensitivity coupled with
selectivity which is required when analyzing human and/or environmental
samples. Generally, the GC-MS system shall: include a Mass Selective
Detector and Ion Gauge Controller; have vacuum pumping systems,
electronic impact and negative ion detection systems. The Gas
Chromatograph shall have simultaneous multiple detector capability; a
capillary stainless steel inlet system with electronic pneumatic
control (EPC) to provide digital control of column head pressure,
column flow rate, split ratio and all other pneumatic parameters.
Detectors must include Flame Ionization and Nitrogen-Phosphorus all
with EPC and an automated liquid sampler with GC-MS interface. All
components shall be interfaced and controlled from a data system. The
system shall have a searchable GC-MS spectral library for
identification of trace compounds. Detailed specifications will be
released with the Request for Quotation (RFQ). The RFQ will be released
on 12/17/98 with the due date for quotations, 01/05/99. This
acquisition will be performed according to Simplified Acquisition
Procedures (FAR Part 13). Requests to receive a copy of the RFQ can be
mailed to Contract Management Division at the above address; e-mailed
to the address below; or sent via facsimile to (513) 487-2109. All
requests should include a complete mailing address and a facsimile
telephone number. Posted 12/01/98 (W-SN275965). (0335) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0337 19981203\66-0004.SOL)
