provide services for conservation and environmental issues at the U.S.
Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, DC and for the protection of
Artifacts on exhibitions and in storage, and to provide training on
such issues as required. The consultant will provide experts services
to the Conservation Management Branch of the Collections Division and
responsible for three major areas of activity. Provide expertise on
environmental requirements for museum artifacts and develop research
projects and methods for minimizing risk to objects on display and in
storage. Coordinate and act as a liaison between the Conservation
Management/Collections Division and the Operations Division on all
issues regarding environmental protections of Museum collections.
Provide a broad range of advisory functions including but not
restricted to conservation policy, treatment and training. The
resulting contract will be awarded as a commercial item purchase. The
solicitation will contain a 9 month base period and two 12 month option
periods to extend the period of performance. The SIC is 9511 size
standard is $5.0 million. Award will be made to the responsive,
responsible offeror after evaluation of price and technical. It is
estimated that the solicitation will be issued by December 7, 1998. It
is estimated that evaluation and award will be made by January 15,
