Y -- MODERNIZATION OF ELEVATORS FOR THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS SOL IFB 990013 DUE 020199 POC Ms. Peg Maguire @ (202) 226-1938 The Architect of the Capitol has a requirement for modernization of four elevators in the John Adams Building of the Library of Congress located at Independence Avenue and Second Street, SE, and four elevators in the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress located at Independence Avenue and First Street, SE, Washington, DC 20540. The work will include new components, utilizing the latest proven designs, to upgrade the elevators to include the following: (1) car controls including complete new selector assemblies and fireman's service with complete new wiring throughout, (2) Governors and safeties, (3) Refurbish hoist motors and new SCR drives, (4) some recabling, (5)Some car door operators, hardware and infrared door edge, (6) Cab and hallway control stations,(7) Car and counterweight guide and roller assemblies, (8) Car top control/inspection stations, (9), Access switches top and bottom floors, (10) remote monitoring connection capability, (11) some new cab interiors. The estimated valueof the procurement is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The tentative date for the release of the solicitation is January 2, 1999. A site visit will be scheduled for approximately 10 days after the release of the solicitation. Details of the site visit will be provided in the IFB. This requirement is issued as full and open competition.
