Initial Production (LRIP)is a continuation of the Bradley Fire Support
Team (BFIST) program designed specifically for the Army's Combat
Observation Lasing Team (COLT) in the heavy and light divisions. The
STRIKER integrates the BFIST Mission Equipment Package into HMMWV
chassis supporting heavy and light force fire support operations. The
LRIP phase will include a base quantity of up to 13 STRIKERs and System
Technical Support for one year, up to 10,000 hours, with options for up
to an additional 29 STRIKERs in FY00, a quantity of up to 27 Bradley
Fire Support (BFIST) Mission Equipment Packages in FY00 and an option
for an additional 10,000 hours of System Technical Support. TACOM
intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Systems & Electronic
Incorporated of St. Louis, MO pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. See numbered
