NASA/ARC plans to issue an IFB/Request For Offers to provide the labor, equipment, and materials to complete the installation of the following items: (a) Furnish, install, test and make operational two (2) 115,000 volt metering units, towers and foundations; (b) Furnish, install, test and make operational two (2) 115,000 volt Sulfur Hexaflouride (SF6) Gas Circuit Breakers; (c) Furnish, install, test and make operational a manual 15,000 volt tiebreaker for Systems C and D and a main circuit breaker for each of the systems; (d) Remove two (2) 115,000 volt oil circuit breakers; (e) Furnish, install, test and make operational several ground fault relays at Ames Research Center; (f) Terminate wires on the existing current and potential transformers for the Ames Power Monitoring system, (refer to contract drawings for the location of listing). Additionally, the project requirements are to install, test and make operational new equipment and wiring for the underground and overhead conduits. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 604 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and shall be advertised under Full and Open Competition. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement is 1731 and $7 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about January 15, 1999, with an anticipated offer due date of on or about February 15, 1999.
