Supplier shall furnish and deliver two fiberglas bridges to Muir Beach, California, Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Both bridges shall be manufactured and fully engineered as clear span bridges of fiber reinforced plastic. ENGINEERING: One bridge with dimensions of 50" X 4"-0", shall be designed for a minimum live load of 85 per square foot, and one bridge with dimension of 70' X 5'-0", shall be designed for a minimum live load of 60 per square foot. The wind loading shall be taken as 20 per square foot on an open frame type structure. DESIGN: (1) Mounting Device: The manufacturer shall provide separate mounting clips by the design. These clips shall be fabricated from galvanized A36 steel to enhance corrosion resistance. Clips shall be securely attached to the foundation as required to provide adequate vertical and horizontal support; (2) Railing Height: Railing height shall be 42"; (3) Diagonals: Bridges shall be provided with a minimum of one diagonal per panel. Two diagonals shall be providedas required for heavier load conditions; (4) Bridges in excess of 20"-0" may be spliced for shipment. MATERIALS: (1) Bridges shall be fabricated from high strength E-glass and isophthalic resin. Weathering and ultra violet light protection shall be provided by addition to a veil to the laminate construction. COLOR: Bridges shall be Olive Green; (2) HARDWARE: All hardware shall be hot dipped galvanized; (3) DECKING: Bridge #1 (50' x 4"-0") shall be standard 2" x 10" yellow pine treated according to the American Wood Preservers Bureau; Bridge #2 (70' X 5"-0") shall be standard 3" X 12" plank for equestrian type loading conditions. FOUNDATIONS: (1) All information regarding bridge support reactions, anchor bolt location and placement shall be furnished by the bridge manufacturer; (2) All other construction design for the foundation shall be the responsibility of the National Park Service; (3) All procedures for installing the bridges shall be given to the NPS personnel on site by the manufacturer. DELIVERY AND ERECTION: (1) Delivery shall be made to Muir Beach Parking Lot, Muir Beach, California 94965, in care of the National Park Service. (2) National Park Service personnel shall unload the bridges from the truck at the time of arrival.
