McDonough, (916) 978-5139. The principal components of the work
include: Construct a fish screen structure approximately 320 feet long
consisting of eight concrete bays. Each bay will be 40 feet long
across the face, 38 feet wide at the footing, and 18 feet high. Work
will also include constructing a temporary bypass channel and temporary
earth plugs; furnishing and installing foundation piles; furnishing and
installing steel sheet piling for cutoffs and walls; excavating for
structures; furnishing and erecting precast concrete voided slabs on
top of the bays; constructing an equipment building; paving canal, O&M
road and parking areas; and furnishing, installing and testing various
mechanical and electrical features. Design work is required on some
features. The work is situated at the inlet to the Contra Costa Canal
on Rock Slough, approximately five miles east of Oakley, California, in
Contra Costa County. Award will be made pursuant to the "Small Business
Competitive Demonstration Program." Contractors do not have to bea
small business to submit an offer under this program. The price range
of this work is over $10 million. The solicitation is scheduled to be
