The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Health Services Division is seeking a qualified professional to provide Sr. Psychiatric Services in support of the health care mission of the BOP. Services include but will not be limited to assistance, advise, and training to promote the efficient and effective delivery of psychiatric services to the mentally ill inmate population, providing recommendations for the short and long-range planning of cost-effective psychiatric services, reviewing existing BOP policies and procedures for consistency with accepted community standards of psychatric care, assisting and engaging in interdisciplinary planning with other mental health professionals of the BOP to facilitate the provision of mental health services and providing technical support to the Central/Regional Offices and field facilities concerning the methods of delivery of psychiatric services while providing necessary support and advise related to current accepted community standards of care. Other services will includecounseling BOP staff on the basic body of disciplinary content, trends and principles, current developments and standards in the diagnosis and treatment of mental settings and review psychiatric medical records and other legal documents and cases in preparation for litigation by the Office of General Council. Services will be performed at the Health Services Central Office location in Washington DC. Some travel may be required. It is estimated that services will be required approximately 2 sessions per week for a total estimated 104 sessions per year (session defined as 4 clock hours). Individual shall be a licensed medical physician with board certification in clinical psychiatry. This solicitation will contain provisions for a Base Performance Period and four (4) one year option periods. Award of these services will be based on technical criteria defined in the Statement of Work contained in the solicitation (to include credentials), Past Performance and Cost, combined for a total overall best value to the Goverment.
