This sources sought announcement is issued for the purpose of identifying sources for a system, either hardware or software, that provides a seamless TCP/IP operation over Radio Frequency (RF) links (standard DOD inventory radio equipment such as HF, UHF, VHF, VLF,etc.), Satellite comms (any satellite communication configuration that DOD currently employs), standard telephone connections, or other common DOD communication means. Seamless is defined as having qualities similar to Internet connections via T1 line or standard PC modem, no matter what the means of connectivity. The system should be easily configurable to any of the requested connectivity means by operational personnel, should support both Secure and regular Internet and satisfy all security issues, should be able to port to standard DOD computers (i.e. software should load and run on, or hardware should easily connect to standard desktops or laptops), and the system should be able to use standard phone lines as a backup where available. Request information regarding specifications, capabilities, and price of currently manufactured commercially available only. This announcement is only an expression of interest. Future requirements and procurements are uncertain. The Government does not presently have a requirement and does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this announcement.
