MICRO-POROUS CARBON FOAMS Sandia National Laboratories possesses specialized expertise in polymer chemistry and macromolecular physics across a wide range of materials applications to yield microcellular materials and their derivatives, engineered to provide unique performance advantages. Computational tools using proprietary code developed to predict performance (i.e. adsorption and transport of two-phase media) in microcellular materials. Important applications include: Energy storage materials devices. Filtration and separation. Insulation media. Low mass structures. Low temperature alloys via non-attriting methods. Powders with unique shapes and properties. Stable suspensions for biomedical. Low density foams for immobilizing particulate beds.
