The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport is soliciting proposals, on a Firm Fixed Price basis, to develop and test a replacement for the Mk77 Mod 0 Gas Generator that is safer and environmentally benign. A total of 14 prototypes will be fabricated. Of the 14 prototypes, 12 will be used for in-air and in-water testing to be performed by the contractor and 2 will be delivered to NSWC, Crane Division for government use. The prototype gas generators will be fabricated and tested in accordance with the solicitation statement of work and Code 83 Gas Generator Specification. The solicitation will also include Option Line Items for the following: (1) Propellant Qualification; (2) 14 Additional Prototype Gas Generators; (3) Gas Generator Qualification; (4) In-Air testing of 3 government-furnished gas generators; and (5) In-Water testing of 3 government-furnished gas generators. A Confidential security clearance will be required of the selected contractor. Acquisition is unrestricted; standard industry code (SIC) is 3764. Award will be made on the basis of Best Value.
