December 8, 1998 COLUMBIA SOUTH CAROLINA- CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW PARKING DECK-SIC CODE 1542- Solicitation No. GS-04P-98-EXC-0020 The United States General Services administration will be conducting a Pre-proposal Conference and a Small Business Networking session for the Parking Deck on January 21, 1999. The conference will began at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. The conference will be held in Room 1070, of the Strom Thurmond Federal Building. The Pre-proposal Conference for the parking deck will be held first, and is estimated to last approximately one hour. All offerors that submitted Technical Proposals for the Parking Deck should plan to attend this meeting. Although not mandatory attendence by all interested parties is strongly encouraged. The Networking Session for the Parking Deck will immediately follow the Pre-proposal conference. The purpose of the Networking Session is to affirm GSA_s recognition of the talent that exists in the small business community and its commitment to opening a dialogue between that community and the firms that are considering bidding on this project. Prospective small business subcontractors will be given an opportunity to network and to showcase their special talents and abilities as potential subcontractors. 65% drawings and specifications for the parking deck are now available. GSA will mail drawing to all offerors who submitted a Technical Proposal for the project not later than December 15, 1998. Offerors are reminded that the 65% drawings are for informational purposes only and therefore the Government assumes no liability for the completeness or accuracy of the drawings. GSA projects that 100% drawings will be available on January 21, 1999. These drawings and specifications will be provided to the qualified offerors when the Government issues its Request for Proposal (RFP) currently scheduled for February 26, 1999. Because of current budget restraints the Government will only issue three sets of plans and specifications to each offeror . Should additional copies be required they willl be either available on disk or the offerors may contact the printer of the documents and have them provide additional copies. In short, all expenses for additional copies of specifications and drawings will be the responsibility of each offeror. *** Note: The response date is a requirement of the system, but it actually reflects the date for the pre-construction conference.
