66 -- MASS SPECTROMETER POC Kimberly Kleeb (703) 648-7370 The Branch of Regional Research of the Water Resources Division (WRD), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is requesting information from commercial sources regarding commercially available mass spectrometers which are equal to the Finnigan Delta Plus, Isotope Ratio, with XL Extended Geometry Analyzer; Universal three collector (CO2, N2, SO2, O2, C02); HD Collector (H2) w/built -in retardation lens for Helium Suppression; Three Additional Faraday Channels; Electronics for Collection of up to eight channels simultaneously collected; Dual viscous inlet system including changeover valve; Differential pumping; Gas bench II; PAL 80 Autosampler; Thermally stabilized aluminum heating block for Autosampler; and Sample tray for Autosampler. For hydrogen continuous flow, the internal precision must be 3 per mill or better when VSMOW hydrogen is analyzed. For dual inlet analyses, the internal precision must be 0.5 per mill or better. Data acquisition and control software must be compatible with LIMS for Light Stable Isotopes (U.S. Geological Survey Open-File Report 98-284). Based on information available at this time, the USGS considers the required system to be sole-source and plans to enter into non-competitive discussions with Finnigan MAT of San Jose, California. Any responses to this synopsis should contain sufficient technical documentation and descriptive literature to sufficiently describe system capabilities. Publicly available commercial pricing information in response to the above description is also requested in as much detail as possible. Neither a draft statement of work nor specifications are available. The Government will not pay for information provided in response to this synopsis. The Contracting Officer plans to acquire the software and related services pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.5 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items.
