entitled, Angiotensin IV receptor regulation of lung endothelium no
synthase with the Prinicipal Investigator being J. M. Patel, PhD are:
(1) characterize the angiotensin IV (Ang-IV)-specific binding sites in
lung endothelial cells; (2) examine the mechanisms by which Ang-IV
binding results in increased catalytic activity of endothelial cell
nitric oxide synthase (ecNOS) protein; and (3) establish the causal
relationship between Ang-IV binding and activation of ecNOS and
NO/cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) signaling and verify in vivo
vasodilator response of Ang-IV using organ bath model. Authority 6.302.
