The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to award a sole source contract to the V.G. Khlopin Radium Institute to provide scientific and technical services required to conduct post-closure field gamma spectrometry and radiochemical analysis at selected sites within the Balapan Test Field and Degelen Mountain at the former Semipalatinsk Test Site (Republic of Kazakhstan). Due to its unique knowledge of the sites, expertise, personnel qualification, and experience in performing post-test radiochemical analysis, the V.G. Khlopin Radium Institute is the only source capable of performing this effort. Contemplated period of performance is 11 months.
