87117 B -- BI-DIRECTIONAL REFLECTANCE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION
(BRDF)MEASUREMENT SERVICES AND MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENTN/ POC Lt Louis
Orndorff, Contract Specialist/Mr David Castillo, Contracting Officer
(505)846-4055 The Air Force Research Laboratory frequently has
requirements for BRDF measurements on a variety of materials ranging
from dark, diffuse paints to highly reflective, highly specular
materials. While we have limited in-house, contractor operated
measurement facilities, demands for data often exceed our measurement
capability. While no current requirement has been identified or funded,
we are interested in determining what measurement capability exists
within industry and at universities and determining what commercial or
semi custom BRDF measurement equipment is available. (a) We frequently
require measurements at wavelengths between 632.8 nanometers and 10.6
micrometers, and also require data at long wavelength ultraviolet and
visible white light. To assist our programs with future requirements
for BRDF measurements, we are requesting information on BRDF
measurement capabilities to include wavelengths available, noise floor,
detector field of view, measurement type (AC or DC), polarization,
sample sizes, incident beam characteristics, turn-around times and cost
per sample. (b) We are requesting information on what BRDF measurement
equipment is available for purchase to meet all or some of the above
listed requirements. (c) In addition, we are interested in receiving
information on commercial products and services as well as commercial
practices. Respondents are requested to provide a statement of
capabilities and information about current business practices related
to BRDF measurements and equipment. If any price lists or catalogs are
available, include them with your response. Request all pertinent
information and three copies of your response be submitted by March 15,
1999. All responses should be forward to AFRL/DE, Attn: Lt. Louis
Orndorff, 3550 Aberdeen SE, Kirtland AFB, NM 87117-5776. Questions may
be sent to the same address or call (505) 846-4055.!! Posted 12/11/98
