Specialist, (202) 307-4921 The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
intends to issue a solicitation for the monitoring, translation and
transcription services of audio and video tapes and documents from
various foreign languages into English, and the furnishing of bilingual
monitors for non-consensual telephone and electronic listening device
intercepts to provide simultaneous translation of intercepted languages
into English. DEA intends to conduct a full and open competition for
this requirement. This procurement is for the New York Field Division.
Security clearances are required and background security
investigations will be conducted on each employee working on this
requirement. The proposed contract period is a base year and four
one-year option requirements. The option requirements will be exercised
upon the availability of funds. There will be subcontracting
opportunities. The Request For Proposal (RFP) number is DEA-99-R-0004.
Only written requests for the RFP will be accepted. The RFP will be
released on January 20, 1999. The date for receipt of proposals will be
