The contract will be negotiated pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) and will contain requirements for one base year and four option years. Sundstrand is the only known company that currently possesses the in-depth technical knowledge and equipment necessary to manufacture the MK50 Boilers within the Government's performance and delivery requirements. No other sources have the technical qualifications and necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will any other supplies or services satisfy the Navy's performance and acceptance requirements.
