are not solicited. First Article Test is required. Remarks: (1) This is
a competitive solicitation for SBA certified sources in the 8(A) set
aside program only. Multiple awards are anticipated under Best Value
Source selection evaluation procedures. (2) The M918 contains hazardous
classified 1.3 and 1.4 materials that must be stored and processed in
accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) Standard 4145.26M. The M918
requires lot testing which uses an M129 Grenade Launcher. The M129
Grenade Launcher is required to be in a secured building and the
building must be constructed in accordance with DoD standard 4145.26M
as it relates to the M918. The contractor will be asked to safely
handle the M550 escapement assembly that will be furnished as
Government Furnished Material (GFM). The M550 escapement assembly
contains a FLAS charge mixture that consists of .816 grams of potassium
per chlorate, .228 grams of atomized aluminum and .096 grams of sulfur.
Also, the M550 escapement assembly contains an M55 stab detonator that
contains 15 milligrams uper charge (rd 1333 lead azide) and 19
milligrams of lower charge (RDX). The M918 contains an inner and outer
capsule that has a mixture of flas composition. The capsule assembly
has a hazard classification of 1.3. Once the capsulea assembly is
enclosed in the projectile, the hazard classification becomes 1.4. The
M918 requires the contractor to comply with ANSI/ASQC 9001 or Q9002
quality program and statistical aprocess control. the M918 projectile
assembly requires 1,000 meter and 200 meter test firing and the test
firing range must comply with all safety and environomental
