intends to procure a performance improvement program for the T/AV-8B
Escape System (SJU-4/A,13/A and 14/A). The program consists of
analyzing various concepts to achieve the following goals: reducing
risk of injury in low altitude ejections between 180 and 245 KEAS;
reducing life cycle costs; reducing risk of injury at all other speeds;
maintaining the current ejection envelope; and accomplishing better
load, stability and restraint management for the aircrew population.
Those concepts determined to result in highest net performance
improvement, will be developed for the SJU-4/A,13/A and 14/A. The
program includes design, integration and testing of prototypes.
Universal Propulsion Company, Inc., A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of BF

such, is the only firm possessing the knowledge, facilities,
equipment, and technical data necessary to meet the government
