WV 25701-2070 43 -- STORMWATER PUMPS FOR THE WEST COLUMBUS, OHIO, IIID PROJECT POC
Ronald F. Vest, CONTRACT SPECIALIST (304)529-5040, John B. Roberts,
CONTRACTING OFFICER This is a Sources Sought Announcement is
essentially for firms having the capability to provide stormwater pumps
for the West Columbus, Ohio, IIID project. The 4 pumps which shall also
include (1ea 20,000 GPM @ approx. 33 feet TDH and 3ea 40,000 GPM @
approx. 33 feet TDH) we also want to include purchase of the Formed
Suction Intakes (FSI), the pump tubes, elbows, and flap valves for each
of the four pumps. Construction work at West Columbus will not start
until sometime in 2000. However, the Government is anticipating
delivering of the pumps by September 1,1999. Pumps are to be
submersible electric type. The vertical axial or mixed flow pumps shall
have direct coupled electric motors that operate from 2,400 VAC, 3
phase power. The pumps will be set in vertical pipes supported from
operating floor above. Discharge will be out the side of the pipe or
tube through a horizontal wall pipe and flap valve into the discharge
chamber. Intakes to the pumps will be mated to Formed Suction Inlets
(FSI). The design of the FSIs will be in accordance with Corps
standards where all dimensions relate to pump inlet diameter. Critical
elevations are stated below: Top of Discharge Chamber 718 Pump Station
Operating Floor 703 Ground Elevation 702 Centerline Discharge From Tube
698 Approx. Pump Station Floor (Sump) 669 Note these values are
approximate and subject to change as our design evolves. Purchase,
testing and receipt of these items within the next 9 months is
ambitious and will require persistent attention. In order to quickly
produce the specifications, advertise and award can proceed, detailed
information is being solicited from typical vendors. The intent is to
make the specifications unrestrictive and having detailed input from
vendors should help. GIVEN Design Requirement for Pump -- 20,000 GPM @
33 feet TDH (1 each required) address the following: What is your
suggested pump model? What is the motor horsepower and available
voltage? What is it's deliver (in GPM) at 33 feet of head? What is it's
delivery (in GPM) at 13 feet of head? What is it's delivery (in GPM) at
38 feet of head? What are the pump NPSHRs @ of these three points? Also
furnish hard copy (not fax) of pump curves: Are there head losses in
your pumps that are not accounted for on your pump curves? Quantify
those losses in feet of head. Is the pump American made in accordance
with the Buy American Act? What would be the time to manufacture? GIVEN
