to be provided in support of the renovation of an existing building
into a facility housing the Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry from the
NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland to the Frederick Cancer Research and
Development Center. SAIC Frederick, the Operations and Technical
Support Contractor for the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Frederick
Cancer Research and Development Center (FCRDC), anticipates a
requirement for a 3-stop hydraulic elevator to be included in the
renovation and upgrade of an existing building in order to house the
Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry currently located in Bethesda,
Maryland. SAIC Frederick intends to assign the resulting subcontract
for the elevator and the installation to the general contractor for
continuity of services once construction has commenced (est. May 1,
1999). Offerors of Elevator and Elevator installation services are
encouraged to send a letter of interest to the individual as provided
below no later that January 15, 1999. The work includes, but is not
limited to, furnishing and installing a service elevator with a 3,500
lb. rated load capacity, 125 fpm speed rating, with an 8 foot interior
height and hoistway entrances 48 by 84 inches. The elevator
installation will include the hydraulic power unit, plunger, piping,
car frame, plateform, doors and all associated items required for a
complete and useable facility. The microprocessor control system must
be Year 2000 compliant, and shall operate in accordance with the
requirements of ASME A17.1. The elevator must comply with the Maryland
Accessibility Code and the Uniform Federal Accessiblility Standards.
