E-MAIL: suggsle@navair.navy.mil, suggsle@navair.navy.mil. The Navy intends to pursue a sole source acquisition for support of the P-3 Antisurface Warfare (ASUW) Improvement Program (AIP). This acquisition is anticipated to cover a performance period of five years (one base year plus four options). An indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract is expected to be awarded to Lockheed Martin Tactical Defense Systems, as the only responsible source that can perform as a result of access to the necessary engineering/aircraft data. The effort will develop sensor integration and data fusion initiatives for the P-3 ASUW AIP aircraft including tasks such as online sensor integration, reduction/redistribution of operator workload and modernization of the Operator Machine Interface to take advantage of new displays and controls, provision for multi-sensor data correlation/fusion, enhancement of data storage, data processing and data management capabilities, improvement of capabilities of existing software and firmware, improvement of capabilities of existing systems, and integration of new subsystems into the aircraft.
