The SPAWAR Systems Center Charleston intends to award a $1.0 million sole-source contract to Southern Research Institute, Huntsville, Alabama in support of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA) BWD program. The effort requires that the contractor have an intimate knowledge of the International Science and Technology (ISTC) projects and must have experience in fostering scientific working relationships with Russian scientists, who formerly worked on the Former Soviet Union Biological Weapons Program. Southern Research Institute has the unique collective experience within the industry to perform this work because of their expertise in this field.
