The Omaha District, Corps of Engineers is soliciting proposals for professional services to complete a feasibility study for reallocation of storage at the Chatfield Reservoir in Colorado from flood control to water supply. The study will include identifying various reallocation targets and their impacts on fish and wildlife, project facilities, downstream land use, water rights, water quality, and water users in the Denver, Colorado area. The project will require considerable coordination with state governmental entities, as well as environmental, water supply and other interests. Major components of the study will include identification of alternative operating pools and scenarios, accompanying hydrologic and hydraulic work efforts, NEPA requirements, identifying and quantifying socioeconomic impacts, determining potential water storage contract costs, preparing revised Water Control Manuals.
