This project is to analyze and design a heating system, based on the optimal equipment technology plus operational strategy scenario determined during analyses and then construct a heating system for warehouse buildings 3501-3503. The system will be designed such as to maximize safety and reliability while reducing annual O & M costs. The Contractor shall address the use of type/style of heat generating equipment, type of fuel burned, and type/amount of required combustion/emission control and monitoring equipment. The Contractor shall also be responsible for determining the optimal output capacity, operating conditions, and number of heat generating units to provide the required heat energy for the three warehouses with a peak load of 9,750,000 Btu/hr. The project involves hazardous materials and the Contractor shall be responsible to determine the extent and cost of removing the asbestos in areas indicated in the Specifications. The Contractor shall also design and install new auxiliary system including piping modifications and or additions and the controls required satisfying the heating requirements. The Contractor shall also be responsible for removing and disposing of the existing HTHW boilers. The procurement will consist of two phases, Phase I: Proposers will be evaluated on Past Performance, Technical Qualifications, and Managment Approach. The highest rated proposals, typically 3 to 5, will advance to Phase II. Phase II: Qualified proposals will be evaluated on price basis and technical basis. The estimated cost range is $250,000.00 to $500,000.00. The SIC Code for this project is 1711, the FSC is Z119. The project is unrestricted.
