As published via Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Synopsis No. 20003-99, dated 2 November 1998 and 16 November 1998, NAVAIR intends to conduct a full and open competition for production of the Laser Guided Training Round (LGTR). Request for Proposal (RFP) N00019-99-R-1216 for the LGTR program is issued as a "Draft Solicitation" for a period of 21 days. The complete draft solicitation; including, the statement of objectives, specification guideline, and related documents are available at the LGTR website. The LGTR website is accessible at the following address: https://cae3.chinalake.navy.mil/lgtr/lgtr-start.html Interested parties are NOT to submit written proposals pertaining to this draft RFP. This period of time is intended to be used by prospective offerors to review the solicitation for any provisions or technical portions that may require correction, changes, or clarifications. NAVAIR will respond to industry questions and requests for clarification at an Industry Day, to be held at Pt. Mugu, CA on 14 January 1999. On or about 22 January 1999, the Government intends to release the formal RFP. NAVAIR does not guarantee that offeror generated comments and/or questions will be incorporated into the formal solicitation. Offerors are further notified that the subject RFP may be modified or otherwise revised as a result of internal Government review. All questions, comments and/or requests for clarification and NAVAIR responses will be provided to all offerors.
